Here is our current speaker schedule for 2021. We have listed also past speakers for your reference. Thank you to all our speakers for their time and support. Greenville Community Meeting has a group Support Discussion on quarterly schedule.

Next Community Meeting

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, we have suspended our in-person meeting until safe to conduct in-person meetings. As an alternative, we have held and will continue to conducted Zoom / Conferences to keep our community in touch. We hope to pick up our community activities in the near future.

Last Group Support Discussion:

June 11, Tuesday, Summer Community Meeting

  • from 12-1:30pm at St. Francis Millennium Campus Community Room

  • The topic will be "Healthy Living, Healthy Eating Habits." Speakers, Alison Lively and Alicia Bliss, from Creative Living Wellness will address the group. Lunch will be provided.

Mar. 12, 2019 First meeting of 2019 (Greenville Community)

Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 12:00-1:30 pm

  • Speakers were Jennifer Massey, MSW, LISW-CP. She works with a group called "Warriors for Wellness." Our other speaker is Rebecca Messmann, who is the daughter of and caregiver to a Monarch member, Peggy Snyder. She presented real life strategies for living with lymphedema.

Mar 12, Tuesday, Spring Community Meeting

  • from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the St. Francis Millennium Community Center.

  • Our topic was "Living with Chronic Illness and Lymphedema Self-Care,"

  • Speakers will be Jennifer Massey, MSW, LISW-CP. She works with a group called "Warriors for Wellness." In this group participants gain support and skills to care for their body, mind, and spirit. Our other speaker is Rebecca Messmann, who is the daughter of and caregiver to a Monarch member, Peggy Snyder. She will be presenting real life strategies for living with lymphedema and the preparation she does to ease the stress of emergency situations.

  • Dinner will be included.


June 11, Tuesday, Summer Community Meeting

  • from 12-1:30pm at St. Francis Millennium Campus Community Room

  • The topic will be "Healthy Living, Healthy Eating Habits." Speakers, Alison Lively and Alicia Bliss, from Creative Living Wellness will address the group. Lunch will be provided.


September 10, Tuesday, Fall Community Meeting

  • from 12-1:30pm at St. Francis Millennium Campus Community Room

  • The Topic will be about skin care and wound care. Ann Doughty, a physical therapist from the St. Francis Wound Care Center, will be the speaker. Lunch will be provided.


December 10, Tuesday, UM Holiday Mixer

  • from 5:30-7:00pm at St. Francis Millennium Campus Community Room.

  • All members and past speakers are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

We have been having great attendance this past year at the St. Francis Millennium Campus. We hope many of you will come and take part in our meetings. Please RSVP so that we can get a good count for meals and refreshments. We look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Reminder: We do ask that regular members pay $25 dues per year to defray the cost of advertising, speaker expenses, and providing food. Thank you so much for your support. Checks may be made out to Upstate Monarch Lymphedema Support Group and given to Debbie Smith.
