UM will hold three Meetings in November

Upstate, South Carolina - Upstate Monarchs is closing out its Fall Speaker session with two Community Discussions on November 6 & 13 and a Board Meeting on November 20th of this month.

The Greenville Community Meeting is in Greenville, South Carolina and Dr. Denise Crockett will discuss some of the emotional aspects of dealing with a long term condition. Dr. Crockett, a Greer therapist, will address the emotional aspects of dealing with a long term condition like lymphedema. You are invited to come, learn and ask questions about the everyday aspects of treatment and coping. Members are strongly encouraged to bring other interested family or friends since Dr. Crockett will be speaking to a range of issues concerning the entire support structure for those with Lymphedema. It will be held at 5pm at Earth Fare SuperMarket on Pelham Road in Greenville, and the discussion will begin at 5:15 PM.

The Anderson Community meeting will be in Anderson, South Carolina and feature Jeanne Nourse, an Anderson Occupational Therapist who runs the Lymphedema Center for AnMed. She recently opened a website to provide lymphedema supplies including compression garments at more reasonable prices. She will discuss the new website, answer questions about lymphedema and lymphedema supplies plus give those attending the Nov. 13 meeting a 10% discount certificate for garments or other supplies. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Cancer Association of Anderson (CAA) at 215 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, South Carolina, and the discussion will start at 6:15 PM.

In addition to the two community meetings, Upstate Monarchs will also be holding its Quarterly Board Meeting on November 20th from 5 PM to 6 PM at the Earth Fare SuperMarkets on Pelham Road in Greenville. This meeting is the formal business meeting for the group where officer reports and group direction are discussed. We are planning to hold Officer Elections at this meeting and all active members are encouraged to attend.
